Herbal Hair Rinse

Rooted in Ashkenazi folk tradition, this herbal hair tea blend draws from the rich tradition of using herbs for healing, strengthening, and beautification within Jewish communities. Relying on both ancestral knowledge and modern scientific understandings of the composition of these herbs, this formula is uniquely blended to support a healthy scalp and hair.

Each bag contains 3-4 herbal rinses. 

Strawberry Leaf
Gentle and balancing, strawberry leaf has been traditionally used in Ashkenazi communities to tone and clarify the scalp. Its mineral content and mild astringency are ideal for supporting healthy hair from the roots.

Spearmint
Cooling and uplifting, spearmint refreshes the scalp and encourages circulation. Its invigorating nature helps awaken the senses while maintaining a clean, balanced scalp environment.

Rosemary
Revered for centuries in herbal hair care, rosemary supports vitality at the scalp by promoting circulation and protecting against environmental stress. 

Chamomile
Softening and soothing, chamomile calms the scalp and eases irritation. Traditionally used to bring gentleness and lightness, it leaves hair feeling supple and comforted.

Stinging Nettles
A deeply nourishing herb, nettles are rich in trace minerals that fortify the hair at its roots. Long used to support thickness and resilience, nettles help lay a strong foundation for healthy growth.

Horsetail

High in silica, horsetail is a traditional herb for stimulating the scalp, nourishing the follicles, and strengthening hair. 

Preparation Instructions

Prepare your herbal rinse by steeping 3-4 tablespoons of dried herbs in 2 cups of boiling water for at least 30 minutes, covered. You can do this by placing your herbs in a muslin bag or reusable tea bag. Alternatively, you can simmer loose and strain with a fine mesh colander or cloth.

Once cooled to a comfortable temperature, pour the infusion slowly over wet hair, massaging thoroughly into your scalp.

Finish with a cool-water rinse, then shampoo and condition as usual, or skip rinsing for enhanced conditioning. 

Store unused portions in glass or ceramic containers in the refrigerator for up to 10 days—never aluminum.
